The order covers the supply of RAN equipment and related materials for the sites under an add-on purchase order that TCS has secured from BSNL, according to separate regulatory filings by the companies.

TCS, back in May 2025, said that it had secured a Rs 2,903.22 crore add-on purchase order from BSNL for the deployment of the 18,685 4G network sites. Under the order, TCS will handle planning, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and annual maintenance of the sites.
The latest order builds on the companies’ involvement in BSNL’s indigenous 4G rollout. TCS, along with the government’s Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), had won the Rs 15,000 crore mega contract from BSNL in May 2023 as part of the state-owned telecom operator’s plan to deploy an end-to-end indigenous 4G network.
The project was designed to reduce BSNL’s dependence on global equipment providers such as Ericsson, Nokia and Huawei. The original contract had a 24-month timeline and was due to expire this month.

TCS’s BSNL contract has also been an important contributor to the IT major’s India business and overall topline growth.
