WWE gives CM Punk a new name after hilarious stunt

WWE gave CM Punk a new nickname after a hilarious stunt at a live event. The Second City Saint returned this past Monday night on RAW and captured a major title.

CM Punk shared a heartfelt moment with Charlotte Flair at a WWE Live Event in New Mexico. Punk did his entrance wearing Flair’s robe until the veteran emerged from backstage to take it back. The promotion gave the champion the nickname “CM Flair,” and you can check out the hilarious moment in the video below.

Cody Rhodes was scheduled to challenge Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Championship this past Monday night on RAW. However, Gunther attacked The American Nightmare during the opening segment, and he was ruled out of the match.

SmackDown GM Nick Aldis then claimed he had found a replacement for Rhodes, and it wound up being CM Punk. The Second City Saint defeated Sami Zayn in the main event of RAW to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion.

Punk kicked off this past Friday’s edition of SmackDown and was interrupted by Rhodes. It was announced that Punk will be defending the title against Rhodes at SummerSlam 2026 next month in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Sami Zayn breaks silence after losing WWE title to CM Punk

SmackDown star Sami Zayn was irate after losing the title to CM Punk on RAW.

Sami Zayn defeated Cody Rhodes and Gunther in a Triple Threat match at Night of Champions to capture the title. It was his first major title victory in the company, but his reign only lasted nine days.

Following the match, The Last Real Good Guy flipped out and took personal shots at Punk. Zayn suggested that Punk did not deserve a title shot after being off TV for months.

“9 days after I get it, that piece of sh** can walk back in here after not being here for months, and walk right in and get a chance? That mother f***er! He has no business, no business!” Zayn said.

Punk is scheduled to team up with Cody Rhodes to battle Sami Zayn and Gunther in a tag team match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18.
