AEW President Tony Khan recently announced the return of a blockbuster star in the Jacksonville-based promotion. Hangman Page is one of the most beloved stars in the company. He had a great world championship reign last year. However, MJF made things harder for him earlier this year. He lost the world title to Samoa Joe in late 2025. The Samoan Submission Machine lost it to Maxwell at the 2025 Worlds End.
When the Cowboy asked Salt of the Earth for a rematch, the latter refused. He agreed to wrestle when Page put his future world title opportunities on the line. Hangman accepted and faced the Devil at Revolution in a Texas Death Match. The bloody match saw both stars leave all in the ring. In the end, MJF retained his title. The former world champion hasn’t been seen since. Reports following the pay-per-view claimed he was scheduled to go on a hiatus for a while.
Recently, Tony Khan announced Hangman Page will return to All Elite Wrestling on this week’s Collision. This will be his first appearance on TV after almost four months. He is set to kick off the Saturday-night show.
“Saturday Night #AEWCollision LIVE, 8/7c, TNT & HBO Max TOMORROW NIGHT, 7/11 Hangman Page will kick off AEW Collision LIVE in Roanoke, VA! We haven’t seen Hangman since Revolution in March, & he returns to AEW to open Collision LIVE in his home state Virginia TOMORROW!” he wrote.
AEW star MJF talks about Hangman Page’s future
Following Revolution on Dynamite, MJF said that Hangman Page will never be able to challenge for the world title, as the Devil defeated the Cowboy at Revolution.
“You are looking into the eyes of the man who hanged the Hangman. Thanks to me, your anxious little millennial cowboy, can never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever be world champion again. I gotta be honest with you folks, he didn’t put up much of a fight. Not even a little bit. That was the easiest match of my entire career,” he said.
It will be interesting to see what Hangman have to say on Collision.
