France eased past a heavily rotated Norway side 4-1 in their 2026 FIFA World Cup Group I match at Boston Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, United States on Friday (June 26). Les Bleus forward Ousmane Dembele scored a first half hat-trick before Desire Doue’s late header.

France Player Ratings: Ousmane Dembele shines in 2026 FIFA World Cup triumph

    Mike Maignan (8/10)

The AC Milan goalkeeper produced a resolute display between the sticks, keeping Jorgen Strand Larsen’s penalty in the 50th minute of the FIFA World Cup clash. He registered three saves in total at Boston Stadium.

    Jules Kounde (7.5/10)

Winning all five of his ground duels, the Barcelona defender was a rock in France’s backline. He created one chance from full-back while winning one of his two aerial duels in the Group I encounter against Norway.

    Dayot Upamecano (7/10)

The Bayern Munich star showcased his ability to be a vocal defensive leader in an adquate manner. He allowed Thelo Aasgaard to get his shot off for Norway’s goal, but won five of his nine overall duels this Friday.

    Maxence Lacroix (6.5/10)

The Crystal Palace defender, who replaced William Saliba in the lineup, relished a quiet afternoon at Boston Stadium. He recycled possession well with 43 completed passes and won just three of his nine total duels.

    Theo Hernandez (6/10)

Deemed as an attacking full-back, the Al-Hilal left-back struggled to assert himself. He created just one chance and brought down Fulham attacker Oscar Bobb inside his own penalty box in the 49th minute of the clash.

    Aurelien Tchouameni (8.5/10)

Featuring in a double pivot, the Real Madrid defensive midfielder relished a brilliant performance in France’s recent win. He laid out the assist for Ousmane Dembele‘s third goal, while enjoying the most touches (86) and producing the most duels won (12) in the FIFA World Cup clash.

    Manu Kone (7/10)

Starting his second straight 2026 FIFA World Cup game, the AS Roma star played the full 90 minutes against Norway. He completed 51 of his 55 passes, recorded a shot on target, and won three of his seven ground duels.

    Ousmane Dembele (9.5/10)

The reigning Ballon d’Or winner increased his tally to four FIFA World Cup goals in the Group I tie after netting the second-fastest hat-trick in the tournament’s history. He also created two chances and completed one of his three dribbles, playing as a right-sided inverted winger.

    Michael Olise (6.5/10)

The left-footed playmaker failed to replicate his usual world-class form, generating zero chances in 65 minutes of action. The Bayern Munich ace completed 37 of his 43 passes and won three of his seven overall duels.

    Desire Doue (8.5/10)

Ousmane Dembele’s Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) team-mate found the back of the net for the first time in the tournament in the final moments of the contest. He took the joint-most shots (4) while creating three chances and completing just two of his six dribbles at Boston Stadium.

    Kylian Mbappe (9/10)

Despite not scoring a goal, the Real Madrid star proved to be too much for Norway. He provided two assists to Ousmane Dembele in the opening 20 minutes. He took the joint-most shots (4) and created the most chances (4) before being taken off in the 86th minute of the game.

Substitutes: Bradley Barcola (7/10), Ibrahima Konate (6.5/10), Rayan Cherki (6.5/10), Malo Gusto (N/A), Jean-Philippe Mateta (N/A)
