Former NFL defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko has waded into the growing controversy around Jaxson Dart’s recent public political appearance on Sunday. The New York Giants quarterback introduced President Donald Trump at a pep rally at Rockland Community College in Suffern, New York, On Friday.
Backing Dart amid the criticism, Fehoko highlighted what he sees as selective outrage by resurfacing an old tweet from Lamar Jackson. The Baltimore Ravens quarterback made a viral tweet in April 2020 while quoting Trump, generating a whole lot of reactions among fans.
Thanks for the submission!
It all started from a 2020 post by The Checkdown, showing how Jaire Alexander reacted to the Ravens drafting Lamar Jackson in 2018. Donald Trump, who was then president, quoted Jackson’s reaction to the video, noting his love for the scene and the selection itself. This led to the quarterback’s viral two-word tweet:

Breiden Fehoko pointed out on Sunday that Jackson’s post then didn’t get the amount of backlash Jaxson Dart is now getting for introducing Trump at the political rally. The tackle, who played with Joe Burrow at LSU, quoted Jackson’s tweet to underscore the inconsistency in the public judgment.
“I guess we should hate Lamar too huh,” Fehoko wrote.
However, it’s worth noting that Lamar Jackson addressed the situation then. The quarterback clarified that his response to Donald Trump was not a deep political statement, but rather an agreement with the positive sentiment the president expressed regarding his selection.
Analyst offers a strong warning to Jaxson Dart amid backlash
Following the series of criticism and backlash that Jaxson Dart’s introduction of President Donald Trump at the pep rally has led to, Craig Carton has a strong warning for the quarterback. The analyst believes the Giants star needs to learn how to reject some invitations.
“Jackson Dart is going to have to learn how to say no at some point,” Carton said on WFAN. “Because he is living the life of a guy that has already accomplished a lot in the NFL, whether that’s MVPs, whether that’s Super Bowls, etc, etc. And I’m telling you, that is great. Wild’s great.
“But if you come out of the gate 1-3, and you’ve got seven picks and two touchdowns, it’s going to backfire on you, and the fans will turn on you very quickly. So again, great opportunity. I think you say yes because it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to introduce a president at an event like that.”
Jaxson Dart is set to enter the 2026 NFL season with a lot of expectations on his shoulders after impressing as a rookie. The latest series of controversies has only heightened the pressure on him, as the Giants enter a new era under John Harbaugh.
