2026 has been a great year for AEW so far. Their recent pay-per-view, Forbidden Door, was a collaboration between the Tony Khan-led promotion, NJPW, CMLL, and Stardom and was a massive success. Their next event is Redemption, and it will take place later this month in Canada. The upcoming show has the potential to be extraordinary.
All Elite Wrestling has made many amazing signings this year. Names like Tommaso Ciampa, Lena Kross, Jake Doyle, Máscara Dorada, Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz, and more have made the roster stronger. They have been doing well, and hopefully, Tony Khan will utilise them even more. Interestingly, fans believe that Khan is not done yet. More high-profile names are expected to arrive.
AEW Redemption will certainly have many captivating matches. However, it is likely going to see many stunning debuts as well. Some of these names are veterans and have the potential to win gold in the Jacksonville-based company.
Here are 5 massive debuts that could happen at AEW Redemption.
#5. Sheamus
Sheamus is a WWE legend. He recently left the Stamford-based company. He was under their banner for almost two decades and was one of their best performers. During his run, he won numerous titles, including the WWE Championship thrice. He is also known for the tag team partnership with current AEW star Claudio Castagnoli. They were collectively known as the Bar.
There is a strong possibility that the 48-year-old will join All Elite Wrestling soon. If he shows up at Redemption, the world of wrestling will go berserk. He is still in great shape and a brilliant in-ring competitor. He has the potential to become the Tony Khan-led promotion’s world champion. Furthermore, he and Castagnoli could bring the Bar back.
#4. The New Day are probably future AEW World Tag Team Champions
The New Day consists of Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston. Just like Sheamus, they are WWE legends, and they too left the sports entertainment juggernaut earlier this year. The duo is one of the most popular tag teams of all time, and their addition to AEW will improve their already strong tag team division tenfold.
After leaving WWE, Woods released an emotional statement on Instagram.
“For the past 16 years, WWE has been my home. It’s where I grew up, found myself, failed, learned, and got to live out things the younger version of me could only dream about…..To the locker room, producers, trainers, crew, camera teams, ring crew, everyone behind the scenes, and the props department – thank you. WWE has the most special and hardest working props department that youll ever find. Love you guys and none of this happens without you. And to everyone who has been part of this ride: thank you for believing in me. Thank you for letting me be Xavier Woods. Thank you for giving me the confidence… to walk away as Austin Creed,” read the post.
Many AEW names reacted to this post. Furthermore, stars like MJF, Kenny Omega, and the Young Bucks have hinted that the former tag team champions are All Elite Wrestling-bound. If the legends show up at Redemption, the pop will be historic. They could also win the company’s World Tag Team Titles this year.
#3. and #2. Karrion Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux
Although Karrion Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux were once one of the hottest acts in NXT, their main event run was underwhelming. The duo has immense aura and thousands of fans worldwide. They currently perform on the independent circuit. Furthermore, the Herald of Doomsday is the reigning MLW World Heavyweight Champion.
In a recent appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show, Kross said that he has a lot of respect for Tony Khan. Furthermore, he believes that he can join the Jacksonville-based company anytime he wants.
“I have a tremendous amount of respect for Tony, and he knows that. I prefer to keep those conversations private out of respect for Tony and myself,” he said.
Khan evidently has a good relationship with Kross and his wife. The duo will end up in AEW sooner rather than later. Even though they left WWE many months back, they are still quite popular. There is a strong possibility that they will show up at Redemption.
#1. Dakota Kai
Former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Dakota Kai will fit well in AEW. In a recent appearance on Insight, she said that she has had talks with other companies, but not on a high level.
“Not necessarily on that level. (on if she talked with TNA or All Elite Wrestling). Yeah, nothing too crazy. But also, I took the time off. So I think getting back into it, they might happen, who knows,” she said.
Dakota Kai might make her AEW debut at Redemption. Her addition will certainly make the company’s women’s division stronger. All this is just speculation at this point. Only time will tell what the future holds for the above names.
