“Why, why, Portugal” – IShowSpeed visibly distraught after realising Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal could face Spain, France after draw with Colombia

American YouTuber iShowSpeed expressed his shock after finding out that Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal fell into the same 2026 FIFA World Cup knockout bracket as Spain and France after drawing with Colombia on Saturday (June 27).

Needing a win to pip Colombia to top place, Ronaldo and Co. only managed a goalless draw after registering just two shots on target and getting dominated on possession.

The stalemate meant that the Selecao dropped into a tougher knockout bracket, starting with 2018 finalists Croatia in the Round of 32 on Thursday (July 2). If they win that, 2010 champions Spain could await in the next round, with two-time winners France a possible semi-final opponent.

On learning about the Selecao’s path to the final in a crowded left side of the knockout bracket, iShowSpeed:

“We’re gonna get Spain, then France, why? Why? Why, Portugal?”

Before the probable Spain and France showdowns, Ronaldo and Co. could face co-hosts USA or 2018 semi-finalists Belgium in the last-eight. If they win all those games, a blockbuster final with holders Argentina, five-time champions Brazil or 1966 winners England could materialise.

Cristiano Ronaldo‘s teammate Joao Felix has said that Portugal will be ready for tougher tests ahead after their hard-fought 2026 FIFA World Cup goalless draw with Colombia on Saturday that sent them into the Round of 32.

in against the 2014 quarter-finalists would have landed Roberto Martinez’s side away from heavyweights like Spain and France. Nevertheless, Felx – who played 70 minutes against Los Cafeteros on Saturday – said that the team will be prepared for no matter the quality of the opposition.

“It was a tough game against a difficult team,” Felix said (as per OJogo). “But it’s over now. We qualified, and that was the most important thing.

“Now it’s time to recover and prepare well for the next game [against Croatia, in the round of 32]. We are in the World Cup, and, sooner or later, we will face great teams. We will be prepared.”

Cristiano Ronaldo has never been beyond the semi-finals in five previous appearances at the FIFA World Cup as he looks to win the one major title conspicuous by its absence in his illustrious trophy cabinet.
