The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will hope that a return to the Eden Gardens serves them well in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL). With only four wins in 11 matches, the three-time IPL champions are on the verge of elimination.

Unfortunately for KKR, things won’t get easier in terms of fixtures despite a return to home soil. The in-form Gujarat Titans (GT), who have won their last five games on the trot, stand in front of them.

GT are in second spot in the IPL 2026 standings at the moment, level on points with leaders Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). In the reverse fixture, the Titans clinched a solid win over KKR at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and will be high on confidence.

KKR’s squad for IPL 2026: Ajinkya Rahane (c), Manish Pandey, Sunil Narine, Rovman Powell, Cameron Green, Rachin Ravindra, Rinku Singh, Rahul Tripathi, Ramandeep Singh, Angkrish Raghuvanshi (wk), Anukul Roy, Tim Seifert (wk), Finn Allen (wk), Navdeep Saini, Umran Malik, Vaibhav Arora, Varun Chakaravarthy, Prashant Solanki, Kartik Tyagi, Matheesha Pathirana, Blessing Muzarabani, Sarthak Ranjan, Daksh Kamra, Tejasvi Singh (wk), Saurabh Dubey.

GT’s squad for IPL 2026: Shubman Gill (c), Jos Buttler (wk), Rashid Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammad Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Rahul Tewatia, Washington Sundar, Sai Sudharsan, Shahrukh Khan, Glenn Phillips, Jason Holder, Jayant Yadav, R Sai Kishore, Nishant Sindhu, Arshad Khan, Anuj Rawat (wk), Kumar Kushagra (wk), Connor Esterhuizen, Ishant Sharma, Kulwant Khejroliya, Luke Wood, Gurnoor Singh Brar, Manav Suthar, Ashok Sharma.

It’s hard to see how KKR will cope with the might of the GT bowling attack. Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada have breathed fire in the powerplay, while Jason Holder and Prasidh Krishna will be a handful to deal with in the middle overs. Rashid Khan has had his moments as well.

Kolkata punched above their weight during their four-game winning run, but there are clear holes in the roster. Ajinkya Rahane and Co. are practically a wicket or two away from defeat in virtually every game, and GT can be backed to bowl those magic deliveries.

KKR could enjoy conditions in Kolkata, with Varun Chakaravarthy potentially returning to the fray. Despite that, though, they will start this clash as the underdogs.

Prediction: GT to win Match 60 of IPL 2026.
