AEW star Wardlow dropped a cryptic message during the live broadcast of the company’s latest pay-per-view, Forbidden Door 2026.
The 38-year-old star was brought into Tony Khan’s company as MJF’s henchman before breaking out to pursue a singles career. He had the size, strength, and ability to emerge as a huge star. However, Wardlow’s promising career was hit by one setback after another. In 2023, he injured his knee and returned to AEW in August 2025 as part of the Don Callis Family. However, he was pushed back to the sidelines with a torn pectoral muscle in just a week.
It has been over 10 months since the fans saw the former TNT Champion on television. However, during his hiatus, Wardlow participated in the American Gladiators show. On the other hand, as AEW’s PPV, Forbidden Door, was airing, Wardlow reshared a fan reel on his Instagram stories, in which the fan called him his ‘Number One Favorite AEW Wrestler.’ It seemed that Mr. Mayhem showed love for his fans as he himself awaits returning to television.

AEW top star says that his body pains a lot because of Wardlow
Wardlow is known for his incredible physique and raw power inside the squared circle. As mentioned, he was brought into All Elite Wrestling as MJF’s wall of protection. However, the former TNT Champion turned on Big Hebrew in 2022. This ultimately led to an explosive showdown between the duo at that year’s Double or Nothing PPV to settle their feud.
A few weeks ago, MJF appeared in an interview with Brian Solomon on Shut Up and Wrestle. The reigning World Champion claimed that his back still hurt from the Powerbombs by Wardlow. He then called him a horrible guy and revealed that he had paid him a lot of money, yet he was still ungrateful.
“I was trying to win Brian, and I’m not happy about it. My back still hurts from those Powerbombs. He sure did hit a lot of f**king Powerbombs that night, a**hole. Horrible guy, horrible guy, an opportunist, and you know, I was paying him very well and the word that comes to mind is ungrateful, Brian. [30:10-30:36]
As Mr. Mayhem remains absent from All Elite Wrestling, it remains to be seen whether Tony Khan will bring him back this year if he is fully healed.
