The EX60 can drive further (up to 400 miles), charge faster, and is more advanced than any fully electric Volvo to date. Volvo announced the “game-changing” 2027 EX60 is more affordable than most luxury rivals, with prices starting at under $60,000.

After opening EX60 orders EX60 on Monday, Volvo said it’s lowering the threshold for a premium electric SUV in the US.

The base 2027 Volvo EX60 P6 is now available to order, starting at $58,400. That’s even less than the new BMW iX3, which already undercut most luxury electric SUVs in the US. BMW opened preorders for the 2027 iX3 earlier this month, starting from $61,500.

While the EX60 offers a longer driving range than any current Volvo EV, with up to 400 miles, that’s for the premium EX60 P12 AWD variant, which will go on sale later this year.

The standard P6 and P10 AWD powertrains are available to order now, starting at $58,400 and $60,750, respectively.

At that, it’s still less expensive than most luxury electric SUVs currently on sale, including the 2026 Genesis Electrified GV70 ($64,380), the Porsche Macan Electric ($80,300), the Audi Q6 e-tron ($63,800), the Rivian R1S ($76,990), and the Mercedes EQS ($89,950).

Each powertrain (P6, P10 AWD, P12 AWD) uses a different size battery. The base P6 is powered by an 83 kWh battery, providing up to 307 miles of range, while the P10 AWD gets a 95 kWh battery, for a slightly longer driving range of up to 322 miles. Meanwhile, the top P12 AWD is powered by a massive 117 kWh battery, delivering a driving range of up to 400 miles.

Both are available with Plus or Ultra grades. The lowest-priced EX60 P6 Plus comes equipped with a large 15″ OLED central touchscreen that features Google Built-In and Gemini AI Assistant, Pilot Assist, a 21-speaker premium Bose sound system, and Volvo’s Safe Space suite of safety features.

Upgrading to the Ultra grade adds unique badging, ventilated Nappa leather, a 28-speaker Bowers & Wilkins premium sound system, a dimmable panoramic roof, and heated booster seats for rear passengers.

Based on the 800V SPA3 platform, Volvo said the EX60 can add up to 173 miles in 19 minutes with a peak charging rate of 370 kW.

Again, that’s for the upcoming top-spec, P12 AWD variant. The cheapest P6 can add up to 155 miles in 16 minutes with a max charge rate of 320 kW, while the P10 AWD can regain 10 extra miles (165 miles) in the same time with a peak rate of 370 kW.

As Volvo’s first EV equipped with a native NACS (North American Charging Standard) port, EX60 drivers will have access to over 29,000 Tesla Superchargers across the US.

Volvo said those interested will be able to schedule test drives later this summer, with the first customer deliveries expected shortly thereafter.

If you’re in the area, the EX60 will be on display at the Westfield World Trade Center in New York City from May 18-20.

With the EX60 on its way to dealerships, Volvo is offering big discounts, including 0% APR and a purchase allowance of up to $7,500 on its current EV lineup. You can use the links below to find available Volvo EX90, EX40, and EX30 models near you.
