‘They will bring justice’: Twisha’s father shows hope

Expressing confidence in the investigation, Twisha Sharma’s father Navnidhi Sharma on Sunday said the truth would come out as a medical team from AIIMS arrived in Bhopal to conduct a second post-mortem examination. The fresh autopsy is being carried out following directions issued earlier by the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The case drew nationwide attention after Twisha’s family staged protests and sought an independent probe, alleging attempts at a “posthumous character trial” of the deceased.Speaking to ANI, Navnidhi Sharma said, “The team from AIIMS have arrived, and we are confident they will bring us justice. The discrepancies will come forth. We were called for the body recognition protocol. Thanks to everyone, including the Chief Minister, who took cognisance and gave a recommendation of the CBI. This case will become a lesson, and anyone will think multiple times before doing such a thing with a daughter.”Supreme Court to hear case on MondayThe development comes amid growing scrutiny after the Supreme Court on Saturday took suo motu cognisance of Twisha Sharma’s death. The matter has been registered under the title, ‘In Re Alleged Institutional Bias and Procedural Discrepancies in the Unnatural Death of a Young Woman at Matrimonial Home’.A bench headed by Chief Justice Surya Kant is expected to hear the case on Monday. Also read: SC takes suo motu cognisance of Twisha Sharma death case; CJI-led bench to hear matter MondayHusband sent to police custodyEarlier, a local court in Bhopal remanded Twisha’s husband and prime accused Samarth Singh to seven days of police custody from May 23 to May 29 for further interrogation.Twisha Sharma, a Noida-based model-turned-actor, was found dead on May 12 at her in-laws’ residence in Bhopal’s Katara Hills area, just months after marrying advocate Samarth Singh. Her family has accused her husband and in-laws, including retired district judge Giribala Singh, of dowry harassment and mental torture. Also read: Twisha Sharma case timeline: Marriage, mysterious death, FIR and courtroom battle
