The all-electric bZ4X Touring, sold as the bZ Wooland in the US, is Toyota’s most powerful vehicle without a GR badge. It’s also the fastest Toyota EV yet.

Meet the rugged new Toyota bZ4X Touring EV

The new Touring model brings more power, a longer driving range, and a touch of personality to the bZ4X SUV lineup.

Toyota launched the bZ4X Touring in Europe on Thursday, designed for those looking for a little more space, performance, and off-road capabilities than what its first electric SUV offers.

The bZ4X Touring is available in both front and all-wheel-drive powertrains. Equipped with a more powerful rear eAxle, the AWD version delivers 375 hp (280 kW), making it Toyota’s most powerful vehicle outside of its GR sports cars.

Added skid plates, wheel trims, black wheels, and a higher stance differentiate the Touring model from the standard bZ4X, giving it a rugged, more aggressive look.

Since the Touring variant is 140 mm longer than the standard bZ4X, it offers considerably more interior space. With the rear seats up, it offers up to 669 liters, 48% more than the bZ4X and among the largest in its segment, according to Toyota.

The added power enables the bZ4X Touring AWD to tow over 3,300 lbs (1,500 kg), while the FWD version has a towing capacity of 1,650 lbs (750 kg).

Inside, the cabin shares a design with the bZ4X, featuring a 14″ central touchscreen and Toyota’s “digital island” center console.

Like the bZ4X FWD model, the Touring version is powered by a 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery and 221 hp (165 kW) front motor, delivering a WLTP driving range of up to 367 miles (591 km).

The bZ4X Touring AWD takes it to the next level with an added rear electric motor, delivering a combined 375 hp (280 kW) and 268.6 Nm of torque. Toyota said the AWD model can accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.5 seconds, making it the brand’s most powerful and fastest-accelerating EV yet.

While the AWD version uses the same 74.7 kWh battery, its driving range drops to 328 miles (528 km) due to the added power.

Like the new bZ4X, the Touring model includes a new battery preconditioning system, enabling it to charge from 10% to 80% in around 30 minutes, even in conditions as cold as -20°C (-4°F).

It also includes EV routing to make road trips a breeze, which automatically recommends charging stops along the way based on the vehicle’s energy consumption and battery level.

The new Toyota bZ4X Touring Design (FWD) will go on sale in the UK in June, priced from £45,995 ($62,200) on-the-road (OTR), just £735 ($1,000) more than the bZ4X Design. The bZ4X Touring Excel (AWD) will start at £51,695 ($69,900), or £685 ($925) more than the bZ4X Excel. Deliveries are set to begin in July.

For those in the US, the bZ4X Touring is sold as the bZ Woodland. It starts at $45,300 with an EPA-estimated driving range of up to 281 miles.

Toyota now offers three electric SUVs in the US: the upgraded 2026 bZ, C-HR, and bZ Woodland. These models are sold as the bZ4X, C-HR+, and bZ4X Touring in Europe and the UK.

After updating the bZ for the 2026 model year with more driving range (up to 314 miles), faster charging, and an added NACS port, Toyota’s electric SUV became the third-best-selling EV in the US in the first quarter, behind the Tesla Model Y and Model 3. Will the C-HR and bZ Woodland see the same demand? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

With the new electric SUVs now at dealerships, Toyota is offering 0% APR financing for up to 72 months and thousands off in incentives to move inventory. You can click the links below to see available Toyota EVs in your area.
