Tony Khan to introduce forgotten female star’s husband as AEW’s brand new signing? Looking at the chances

A major star has just hit free agency and has been linked to AEW, seeing as he is the husband of a star on the roster. Could Tony Khan make this official and sign them to the promotion?

In an official statement earlier today by TNA, both Steve Maclin and Myla Grace have been granted their release from the company and are now free agents. There have been reports that as early as now, the expectation is that there will be great interest in both stars from several promotions.

Maclin has been linked to AEW, given that his wife, Deonna Purrazzo, is signed to the roster. She has been with the company since early 2024, and although she has been less active, she has become a major figure in ROH. She is currently the Pure Women’s Champion.

Tony Khan has brought in great signings in 2026 and has gotten different kinds of stars to their roster. He could reach out to Steve Maclin and bring him in to have a similar role to his wife. The couple could reinforce the ROH roster and make sporadic appearances in AEW.

The AEW star posted a heartfelt message for her husband following his departure from TNA

Deonna Purrazzo and Steve Maclin have been actively supporting one another despite not working for the same company. During the Virtuosa’s AEW debut in 2024, her husband was spotted in the crowd, and they even shared a brief moment.

Following Maclin’s departure from TNA, his wife immediately took to social media and posted a heartfelt message of support for him.

“You are the epitome of a professional. You gave more blood than anyone I’ve ever seen. You have more heart than anyone I know. And you made the most of every minute you were given. This kind of feels like the end of era… but I know it’s the start of something even more magical. I love you,” she wrote.

It will be interesting to see what happens, as there is a real possibility of the real-life couple working for the same promotion. But as reported, several other companies may be in the running to sign Steve Maclin.
