These are the first Nvidia RTX Spark laptops

Nvidia has officially entered the world of consumer laptop chips with the RTX Spark, and several device makers already have hardware lined up for it. Microsoft, Asus, HP, MSI, Lenovo, and Dell are expected to launch RTX Spark laptops sometime this fall, and some of those partner companies have shared details about what we can expect.

The common feature shared by all of the upcoming launches is that Arm-based Nvidia RTX Spark superchip, though several variations are in the pipeline. The flagship version unveiled by Nvidia at Computex includes 20 CPU cores, 6,144 GPU cores, and 128GB of LPDDR5X memory — making it near identical to the GB10 chip inside Nvidia’s DGX Spark “personal AI supercomputer.” Other versions with as little as 16GB of memory will come later, according to Nvidia.

So, aside from the new chipset, here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming RTX Spark laptops:

    Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra

Microsoft has provided a handful of details about its upcoming RTX Spark-powered Surface Laptop Ultra. We don’t have its final specifications or even a price, but we do know that the Surface Laptop will have a 15-inch mini-LED touchscreen with 2,000 nits of peak HDR brightness. Microsoft says this is the “brightest display we’ve ever shipped,” and that it provides 262 pixels per inch and “high-precision color accuracy.”

The Surface Laptop Ultra will feature ports for HDMI, USB-C, USB-A, SD card, and a headphone jack, though Microsoft hasn’t specified what speed or version these will be running. The haptic touchpad is also “the largest we’ve ever put on a Surface,” according to Microsoft. The company also claims that this is “the most powerful Surface Laptop ever built,” though without full specifications to back that up, we won’t know for sure until we can test it ourselves later this year.

    • Display: 15-inch mini-LED PixelSense Ultra touchscreen with HDR
    • Brightness: Up to 2,000 nits
    • Ports: HDMI, USB-C, USB-A, SD card, headphone

The upcoming Nvidia Spark-powered Asus ProArt laptops have notably dropped the wheel-like dialpad on the touchpad that was used to cycle through creative tool settings.

The overview Asus provided for its upcoming ProArt laptops is one of the most comprehensive among Nvidia’s launch partners, though key details like storage configurations and price have yet to be announced. Two models will launch later this year — the ProArt P16 and ProArt P14 — that focus on serving the needs of creative professionals, sporting color-optimized high-resolution displays and plenty of RAM for running demanding applications. Both of the laptop displays support touch functions, and the dialpad wheel that’s built into the touchpad on the current-gen ProArt laptops models is being replaced with haptic touchpad features.

The MSI Prestige N16 Flip AI Plus.

From this image we can assume the MSI Prestige N16 Flip AI Plus will include at least two USB-C ports, an HDMI port, and a headphone jack, but MSI hasn’t confimed that yet.

MSI is also coming out with its own RTX Spark-powered offering, the Prestige N16 Flip AI Plus, which features a 2-in-1 flip form factor. MSI says this “represents a new generation of premium thin-and-light PCs,” though the company hasn’t shared any information about its weight or dimensions yet. And, you guessed it — we also don’t know how much it will cost, or what memory and storage configurations will be available. There’s a smattering of information about its 16-inch display below, but all we know otherwise is that it will support the MSI Nano Pen: a stylus MSI designed with Microsoft that doubles as an AI microphone for Copilot.

    • Display: 16-inch 3840 x 2160 OLED
    • Color: 100 percent DCI-P3, Calman verification, Delta E <1 color accuracy
    • Brightness: “over 1,000 nits”
    • Battery: 99.9Wh

    Dell, Lenovo, HP and more

This is the clearest look we have at the upcoming Dell XPS 16 refresh, which seemingly features three USB-C ports, an HDMI port, headphone jack, and an SD card slot.

HP gives us a closer look at the sides of the new OmniBook X 14, which show 2x USB-A, 2x USB-C, an HDMI port, and a headphone jack.

If you’ve been paying attention to our Computex coverage, you’ll know that Dell, HP, and Lenovo will also be launching Nvidia Spark-powered devices. Announcements for a new Dell XPS 16, Lenovo Yoga Pro 9n, and HP’s upcoming OmniBook X 14 and Ultra 16 were confirmed to be among the over 30 Nvidia RTX Spark laptops set to arrive later this year, but details about price and specifications weren’t included in those announcements. In Nvidia’s announcement, it said all the RTX Spark laptops will have “all day battery life” and be as “slim as 14mm.”

HP says it will share information “closer to availability,” and it’s likely that the other companies will stick to a similar timeline. There are some images of the devices at least to give us some idea of what will be launching this fall. Acer and Gigabyte are also expected to launch their own Spark laptops, according to Nvidia, though there’s no mention of specific models or a launch timeframe.
