Samantha Busch recently opened up about the heavy reality of navigating through grief while raising her two children following the tragic passing of her husband, Kyle Busch. She shared a heartbreaking look at the invisible weight carried by a grieving parent, capturing the difficult balance of mourning the loss of her spouse while maintaining a brave face and stable routines for their children.
In an Instagram post, Samantha, the wife of two-time NASCAR champion Busch, wrote:
Thanks for the submission!
“I lost the love of my life, my person, and my best friend. The man I built a life with and the person I thought I would grow old with. But I’m still Mom.”
Despite her internal physical and emotional pain, Samantha detailed how a mother’s protective instinct overrides the devastation when her kids are hurting. She added:
“Grief doesn’t stop parenting. The morning still comes. There are questions to answer, tears to wipe away, races to get to, bedtime stories to read, and two kids trying to make sense of a loss that no child should ever have to face.”
Moreover, she stressed the agonizing duality of life, as her ultimate goal remains to shield Brexton and Lennix from the crushing magnitude of the loss.
“When your children are hurting, something inside of you just takes over. You get up early, have a good cry, and then go make the pancakes… As a mom, all you want is for your children to feel safe, loved, and protected, even when your own world has fallen apart. They are the reason I keep putting one foot in front of the other. For Brexton. For Lennix. For him.”
Kyle Busch’s sudden passing in late May from severe pneumonia that progressed into sepsis left a permanent void in the NASCAR industry and the Busch home. Yet Samantha closed her statement with a poignant reminder of why she refuses to stand still, vowing to keep moving forward for the legacy he left for their children.
Kyle Busch’s brother Kurt shares a heartfelt message following NASCAR icon’s death
The Busch brothers defined an era of modern NASCAR, evolving from a pair of competitive siblings racing on the tracks of Las Vegas into one of the most dominant, championship-winning brother duos. After Kyle Busch’s sudden death, former NASCAR driver Kurt Busch shared a poignant message on his social media account.
He wrote:
“Finding a silver lining, I reflect back on the days Kyle and I raced anything we could get our hands on. From big wheels to competing on the biggest stages in motorsports, we were more than just fierce competitors. We pushed each other, challenged each other, and learned from each other.”
Kurt’s tribute joins a massive wave of mourning and remembrance across the racing world, underscoring the deep structural impact the Busch family has had on the sport, and the collective grief the garage continues to carry through the 2026 season.
