ESPN has officially found Ryan Clark’s replacement on ‘Monday Night Countdown.’ They have promoted Super Bowl champion Jason McCourty to a high-profile NFL role ahead of the 2026 season.

McCourty’s promotion comes after expanding his presence across ESPN on shows including ‘Get Up,’ ‘First Take,’ ‘SportsCenter’ and ‘NFL Live.’ The former NFL Network analyst joined ESPN in 2024 alongside Peter Schrager after ‘Good Morning Football’ moved to the West Coast.

Despite losing his former spot, Clark had nothing but support for McCourty. Tweeting on X, he wrote,

“Congrats brother!! Go kill it! Worked your way here. Blessings 🙏🏾”

McCourty brings 13 seasons of NFL experience. He has played for the Titans, Browns, Patriots and Dolphins. The Super Bowl winner now steps into one of ESPN’s biggest football broadcasts.

‘Monday Night Countdown’ will air on September 14 with the Denver Broncos facing the Kansas City Chiefs.

Ryan Clark cried while addressing ESPN firing

Clark coulnd’t hold back tears while discussing his ESPN firing on ‘The Pivot’ Podcast. The question came from co-host and Jacksonville Jaguars legend Fred Taylor. He asked Clark if he wished he had done anything “differently” during his ESPN career.

“That’s a good question,” Clark replied before breaking down in tears. “It depends on when you ask me. And they’re proud of like the way I represent the community.”

“Yeah, I wouldn’t change anything, cause that means the world to me… When I go home and this kid from the West Bank is so accepted in New Orleans now, I wouldn’t change that. All I ever wanted to do was be accepted. So yeah, I wouldn’t change.”
