    Real meaning of “Bangaranga” said by Rusev on WWE RAW

    WWE Superstars dropping their own catchphrases is the current viral trend. Jey Uso has his “Yeet”, Roman Reigns says “Acknowledge Me,” and much more. Now, it appears former United States Champion Rusev may have his own catchphrase.

    Tonight on the Monday Night RAW, fans saw a backstage segment where Penta, who defended his Intercontinental Championship against Je’von Evans, met the new AAA General Manager, Rey Mysterio, backstage, where he said he wants to be a great fighting champion and then went on to pitch to defend his title against the Hall of Famer.

    In another segment, The Master of 619 and GM Adam Pearce were talking when Ethan Page and Rusev came in with their disagreement over Mysterio getting a WWE Intercontinental Championship shot without earning it. Fans noted that when Rusev entered the segment, he said a catchphrase, “Bangaranga.”

    Many fans now may be wondering what the word randomly dropped by The Bulgarian Brute actually meant. “Bangaranga” is a song by Bulgarian pop star Dara that went viral. Now the same word has been added to the Bulgarian language, according to the Department of Bulgarian Language at Sofia University, which told Bulgarian National Television.

    “Bangaranga,” is a word derived from Jamaican Patois slang, meaning commotion, noise, or rebellion.

    Rusev lost the match to a WWE Hall of Famer

    The backstage argument led to Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio agreeing to earn his shot at the Intercontinental Championship and getting geared up to face Rusev.

    The Bulgarian Brute and The Master of 619 collided on Monday Night RAW, and Mysterio showcased why he is indeed a legend. He captured a big win over the former WWE United States Champion and earned his fair shot at the title.

    Rey’s win didn’t sit well with Ethan Page, who was at the commentary table supporting Rusev, who jumped in to beat The Master of 619, but Penta ran in to save the icon, and the two babyfaces are now bound to collide in future stand tall over heel stars.

    That being said, it will be interesting to see whether Rusev continues using the “Bangaranga” catchphrase and whether it helps improve his persona.
