The Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders have just started on June 25, 2026, and big-box stores like Walmart and Target are amongst the confirmed retailers, alongside Best Buy, and others. However, do note that even if you order the physical boxed edition from either store, you will still not be receiving a disc. The developer has confirmed that all physical boxes will include a game code inside them instead.
According to the information on the websites of both competitors, Walmart is set to begin delivering GTA 6 to customers starting from November 12, 2026, whereas Target will aim to deliver it on the release day, i.e. Novemeber 19, 2026.
However, before you hop on the train to place your order, do note that the game will have two variants at launch: Standard Edition ($79.99 USD) and the more expensive Ultimate Edition ($99.99 USD). Among the two editions, Walmart and Target will only sell the Standard Edition. Therefore, if you want the Ultimate Edition, you will have to purchase it digitally.
