Rashee Rice’s 30 days in jail have come to an end. While many have told stories of the sudden shock of walking out of the doors to an empty street, Rice didn’t have that experience. Instead, paparazzi were waiting for the Chiefs wide receiver.

According to a video from Fox 4 News via Ari Meirov on X on Tuesday, Rice was met with cameras upon his release. The wide receiver first backed up with his hood facing the camera, and then he turned and ran. He was driven away in a black SUV with tinted windows.

Fans reacted to the video clip with two main reactions. In one group, fans joked about his ability to run and stay out of trouble.

“Acting like he won’t be back here next week,” one joked.

“Andy Reid is ecstatic seeing him run fine,” another added.

“at least we know that knee works,” one replied.

Other fans braced for Rice to turn things in the right direction this season.

“Hope he can lock in…this guys been in enough trouble over the last couple years,” one posted.

“ACL looks good. He rehabbed in (there), I guess. Arrow pointing up,” another predicted.

“Looks like he learned a hard lesson and will stay out of trouble moving forward,” one assessed.

With Rice out of jail, the next question is whether the NFL will take action to suspend the wide receiver before the start of the regular season. If not, he will have the chance to do something he hasn’t done in a while.

With Rashee Rice out of jail and seemingly in good shape to avoid NFL suspension, the wide receiver will have the chance to be available for 17 games in 2026. If he can finish the year with perfect attendance, it would be the first time in his career. It would also be his first time with at least 16 games since 2023.

Rice’s record for starts in a single season is eight, which took place in his rookie season. He tied that record in 2025. If Rice can start every game through Nov. 15’s contest against the Atlanta Falcons, he will set a new career record for starts in a season.

With his second contract on the horizon, Rice has every reason to stay out of trouble and focus on his workload. For the Chiefs to return to the top of the NFL pecking order, Rice will need to be at his best.

Will the wide receiver come through for the team?
