Dallas Cowboys cornerback Josh Butler posted an Instagram reel about one of his biggest challenges this year, and fans made a field day out of it.
Butler posted a video of himself shaking his head about having to go against Ceedee Lamb, George Pickens, KaVontae Turpin, and Ryan Flournoy during the Cowboys OTAs. The on-video caption said:
Thanks for the submission!
“POV: you gotta guard GP, CeeDee, Turp, and Ryan Flo everyday and they’re in their prime right now.”

“Iron sharpening iron, boxing all that then aura farming.”
Fans on Instagram didn’t hold back with their reactions.
“Quinyon Mitchell would never make this post,” one fan commented. Mitchell is the Philadelphia Eagles’ second-year cornerback.
“He ain’t ready, he making TikToks and shi,” another commented.
“Can’t guard a standing pole anyway,” one fan wrote.
“Iron sharpens iron 🤷♂️,” another posted.
“Nah CD ain’t even in his prime,” a fan wrote.

The Dallas Cowboys cornerback is currently battling for a roster spot ahead of OTAs, which kick off June 1. He tore his ACL during the 2024 season and managed one game in 2025. Before the injury, he had five pass deflections, one sack and 21 tackles across five games in 2024, playing as a backup. Now he’s working under his third defensive coordinator in three years.

Can Josh Butler earn a spot in the Cowboys’ crowded cornerback room?

Dallas already has DaRon Bland, Cobie Durant, Shavon Revel Jr. and rookie draft pick Devin Moore at cornerback. Josh Butler is scrapping against Reddy Steward, Caelen Carson, free-agent signing Derion Kendrick and others for the remaining spots.
The receiver group he’s going up against in practice had a productive 2025. CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys’ No. 1 wideout, became the only player in franchise history to post 1,000 receiving yards in five of his first six NFL seasons. George Pickens, Dallas’ big offseason addition, earned a Pro Bowl in 2025. KaVontae Turpin is one of the most explosive gadget players.
