A new character has been pitched for a WWE SmackDown superstar. Many times, a wrestler receives a new lease of life after refreshing their on-screen character.
Currently, it can be argued that quite a few names could do with a shake-up, and Hall of Famer Bully Ray believes one superstar who could benefit from a change is Giulia.

Speaking on the Busted Open Podcast, the tag team legend said he always thought Giulia would find it difficult to transition from STARDOM to WWE.
“I don’t think they’re as concerned about Giulia. As much as I love Giulia, I have been very honest about her in the WWE from day one. I always said I thought the transition from STARDOM would be very difficult for her. Her character needs some fine-tuning,” he said.
Ray then pitched an interesting character idea for the SmackDown star. He suggested leaning into her Japanese and Italian roots.
“She might need a change. And we discussed this — she comes from a Japanese and an Italian background. What do Japanese and Italians have in common? The mafia. Maybe she turns into some kind of mafia-esque Yakuza boss, blah, blah, blah, something,” Ray added.
Bully Ray has been vocal in his support for Giulia in the past. The multi-time tag team champion was unhappy with Giulia being the one to take the pin during an episode of RAW in Turin, Italy, two months ago.
Giulia had an impressive start on the WWE main roster and has won the Women’s United States championship twice on the brand. However, in recent months she hasn’t been booked well, much to the anger of some fans.
Giulia was ambushed last week on WWE SmackDown
Last week on SmackDown, Giulia was scheduled to face Blake Monroe in The Glamour’s main roster debut.
However, just as Giulia was making her way to the ring, Monroe attacked her from behind. Monroe slammed her head on the ring apron and connected with a knee to her face.
The assault continued in the ring with the former NXT Women’s North American champion laying her out with a Neutralizer.
