Gujarat Titans (GT) speedster Mohammed Siraj took the prized wicket of Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Yashasvi Jaiswal in the IPL 2026 Qualifier 2 at New Chandigarh Stadium on Friday, May 29. The pacer dismissed the Royals opener for just one run to strike in the first over of the match.

The dismissal came as Siraj bowled a short delivery on the fourth ball of the first innings. Jaiswal went for a pull short but ended up miscuing it towards deep square leg, where Prasidh Krishna took a decent catch.

    Watch the video below:

With the wicket, Siraj continued his impressive form in IPL 2026. The 32-year-old has bagged 18 wickets (and counting) in 16 matches. The 2022 champions had retained him for INR 12.25 crore ahead of the 2026 auction.

Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada strike early after RR opt to bat against GT in IPL 2026 Qualifier 2

A clinical bowling display from Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada gave GT a perfect start against RR in the IPL 2026 Qualifier 2. Apart from Siraj, Rabada dismissed Dhruv Jurel for seven runs.

At the time of writing, RR were 39/3 after 3.3 overs, with Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ravindra Jadeja at the crease.

The Jaipur-based franchise is coming on the back of a 47-run win over the SunRisers in IPL 2026 Eliminator, thanks to a quickfire 97 off 29 balls from Suryavanshi.

On the other hand, GT lost to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 92 runs in IPL 2026 Qualifier 1, failing to chase down 255. Since the Shubman Gill-led side finished in the top two, they got another chance in Qualifier 2 to reach the final.

The two teams have locked horns twice this season. RR won the first game by six runs in Ahmedabad before GT registered a 77-run victory in the second in Jaipur. Both the Royals and the Titans are chasing their second IPL title.

The winning team will play defending champions, RCB, in the IPL 2026 final, scheduled to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, May 31.
