Major Star Announces Retirement At Just 31 Years; Final Date Confirmed For Beloved Wrestler

In a shocking announcement a major Japanese wrestler has decided to retire. World Wonder Ring Stardom shared the news on their social media platform.

Natsupoi (real name Natsumi Maki) was one of the top names in Japanese women’s wrestling and competed for Stardom. She was known as known as the “High Speed Fairy” thanks to her dimunitive size, lightning-quick and acrobatic offense, and charismatic personality.

The Japanese wrestler shocked the world with her retirement announcement at a press conference today at the age of just 31. She started wrestling in 2015 and spent the last five years at Stardom. During that time she won the Wonder of Stardom Championship once, Artist of Stardom Championship thrice, the Goddesses of Stardom Championship two times, and the High Speed Championship once.

Natsupoi was widely praised for her exceptional selling, fearless bumps, and her aerial offense. Despite her small stature, she earned a reputation as one of the toughest performers in Japanese wrestling. Over her career, she’s won several titles, making her one of the most accomplished female wrestlers of her generation.

The 31-year-old beloved Natsupoi announced today at a press conference that her final bout would take place on January 3, 2027.

Natsupoi had competed for the IWGP Women’s Championship on July 18 against Syuri at Stardom 5STAR Grand Prix 2026.

After failing to wrest the title away from Syuri, the tearful 31-year-old took off her knee pads, laid it down on the floor, said “Bye Poi” and left. After indicating an early retirement, she finally made the announcement earlier today.
