Tonight, a massive announcement was made about an upcoming WWE Premium Live Event. Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio was involved in the declaration.
The Triple H-led WWE is set to host The Great American Bash on June 28, 2026, at the Performance Center in Florida. Many top titles will be defended on the show, including the NXT and NXT Women’s Championships. The event will likely be headlined by Tony D’Angelo vs. Naraku (fka EVIL). General manager Robert Stone is pulling out all the stops to ensure the PLE turns out to be a memorable affair.
Thanks for the submission!
Robert Stone has had a busy day at the office tonight. On NXT, Naraku attacked Tony D’Angelo with a fireball. Hence, D’Angelo was stretchered out of the arena and taken to a hospital. Amid the chaos, Stone found the time to contact Lucha Libre AAA general manager Rey Mysterio.
In a backstage interview, Stone revealed that The Great American Bash will feature some luchadors from Lucha Libre AAA.
“Actually, it was AAA general manager Rey Mysterio [on the phone]. There’s gonna be some luchadors at The Great American Bash [on] Sunday, which I am excited about,” Stone said.
Lucha Libre AAA is scaling new heights with each passing week under the creative leadership of WWE legend The Undertaker. Recently, the promotion presented one of its most successful events ever, Noche de Los Grandes 2026.
The show was headlined by an epic Mask vs. Mask Match between the Original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable) and El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser). Kaiser defeated Gable in an emotional showdown to save his mask.
Rey was appointed as the general manager of AAA on May 23, 2026. The massive announcement was made by AAA President Marisela Pena on the company’s weekly show on FOX. It seems like the WWE Hall of Famer is already making some big moves by sending luchadors to NXT for The Great American Bash.
