Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal has issued a six-word message to Robert Lewandowski, who is set to leave Camp Nou this summer. Yamal admitted that the LaLiga champions will miss the services of the veteran striker next season.
Lewandowski, who joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich in a €50 million deal, has scored 119 goals for the club in 192 appearances across competitions. The Poland international also won three LaLiga titles and the Copa del Rey in 2025.
Thanks for the submission!
Due to injuries, Lewandowski has not played regularly for Barcelona in the ongoing season. He has started in just 16 league games this season, scoring 13 goals. With the striker confirming his decision to leave Barcelona, the club gave him an emotional farewell during the last home game of the season against Real Betis on Sunday.
Lewandowski received a guard of honour from his teammates after the game and thanked the fans for the support since his first day at the club. He also added that he feels proud of everything he achieved with the club.
Speaking to the fans after the game, Lewandowski said in his speech:
“For me, this is a very emotional and difficult day. When I arrived in Barcelona, I knew this club was a great one, but your support has been incredible.
“From the very first moment, I’ve felt at home. I’ll never forget when you chanted my name.
“Thanks to my teammates, coaches and club staff. It’s been an honour to play for Barça. We’ve shared some great moments over these four years. I’m very proud of everything we’ve achieved.
“Today I bid farewell to the stadium, but I’ll always carry Barça in my heart. Visca el Barça and Visca Catalunya.”
Acknowledging Lewandowski’s decision to leave the club, Yamal took to Instagram and wrote:
“We’re going to miss you legend.”
Yamal, who is currently out injured, has played 127 matches alongside Lewandowski at Barca. The duo have directly combined for 14 goals during the time.
What next for Lewandowski after Barcelona exit? Agent Pini Zahavi provides update
Robert Lewandowski wants to take up a new challenge after deciding to leave Camp Nou, according to his agent Pini Zahavi. The striker has interest from clubs in the MLS and the Saudi Pro League at the moment and is expected to make a decision at the end of the season.
Zahavi stated (h/t Barca Blaugranes):
“Robert Lewandowski did not reject the proposal to extend his contract with FC Barcelona, but he wanted to take on a new challenge and that is what he has done.
“Clubs from the United States and Saudi Arabia have shown interest, and the final decision will be made at the end of the season.”
Al-Hilal have reportedly offered Lewandowski a lucrative deal worth €90 million a season to join them in the Saudi Pro League. MLS club Chicago Fire are also believed to be interested in luring him to the United States.
