The Los Angeles Rams pulled the biggest move of the offseason after trading for two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns on Monday.
The Rams are reportedly set to send pass rusher Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round draft pick, a 2028 second-round pick and a 2029 third-rounder as part of the deal for the veteran defender.
Thanks for the submission!
Former Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt reacted to the blockbluster trade in an X post.

The former three-time Defensive Player of the Year’s remarks outline the Rams building a roster for Super Bowl LXI, which is set to be hosted at SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles next year.
The Rams were already buyoed by reigning NFL MVP Matthew Stafford’s return for the 2026 season and Garrett’s potential addition to the roster either strengthens their Super Bowl push.
Browns pushed Jared Verse’s inclusion in Myles Garrett trade package from Rams
While the Rams were reportedly interested in Myles Garrett since the 2026 NFL draft, the Browns publicly denied any trade move for the two-time Defensive Player of the Year.
As the trade talks intensified, the Rams initially proposed a package of draft picks. However, the Browns rejected their offer and were adamant about the inclusion of pass rusher Jared Verse in the trade package for Garrett, according to ESPN.
Verse was selected by the Rams in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft and was named the Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2024. He has earned two Pro Bowl selections in his two NFL seasons and has been routed as one of the best players in the league at his position.
