BTS member Jungkook departed from Seoul’s Gimpo International Airport on June 4, 2026, reportedly for an overseas schedule. While no official details regarding his destination or activities were announced, several fan accounts such as @dailyjkpraise, claimed that the singer was likely heading to Japan for a personal or brand-related engagement.

Dressed in an all-black outfit, the ‘Golden Maknae’ of BTS greeted members of the press and fans gathered at the airport before making his way through the terminal. Shortly after news of his departure spread online, photos and videos showing a huge crowd outside Calvin Klein’s Harajuku store in Tokyo began circulating across social media platforms.

The gathering quickly drew attention from fans, as there had been no official confirmation that Jungkook would be appearing at the location. Nevertheless, many speculated that the crowd had assembled in anticipation of a possible visit by the BTS star.

Adding to the speculation, X user @SanSo0613 previously claimed on May 23 that a Calvin Klein staff member had hinted that Jungkook would be visiting the brand’s Japan location. Several social media users continued to report that people had started gathering outside the Harajuku store around noon local time.

As the number of attendees increased throughout the day, some claimed that store staff had stepped in to help manage the situation. As reports of the growing crowd continued to emerge, another fan account, @IMGOLDENCARD, cited on-site information suggesting that a Calvin Klein event involving the singer was scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. JST.

They also stated that the event was invitation-only and not open to the public. Others noted that the Calvin Klein store had reportedly closed earlier than usual.

The scenes prompted widespread discussion among fans online, many expressing surprise at the turnout despite the absence of any official announcement regarding Jungkook’s appearance. Commenting on the situation, one fan wrote,

“Is this for Jk? Cause there is no confirmation yet. Dammmn the craze and impact for him is unreeaalll”

Others echoed similar sentiments, expressing amazement at the turnout. Many described it as another example of the BTS star’s immense popularity and influence, pointing to the growing crowd as proof of the anticipation surrounding him.

Wow. They hear about him supposedly heading to Japan when he appeared at the airport today, and crowd starts forming around the Calvin Klein store. No official announcement. No clue if it’s even a possibility he’ll be there.

The Calvin Klein billboard hasn’t even been fully unveiled and he’s already shutting down the streets of Tokyo. The Jungkook effect is a different level of terrifying. 😭🔥

Many described the scene as a reflection of his strong popularity in Japan, with some fans even jokingly referring to the country as “Jungkook Land”.

The crowd waiting for Jungkook outside the CK flagship store in Harajuku without a single official announcement is actually insane. But sure, some internet pixels thought leaving nasty comments were gonna affect his popularity 😭😭

The level of Jungkook’s popularity in Japan is just insane and all these people are there without any official confirmation

Jungkook’s CKJK capsule collection sparked massive demand worldwide

The interest surrounding the reported Japan schedule came just weeks after Jungkook and Calvin Klein launched the highly anticipated CKJK capsule collection on May 20, 2026. The limited-edition release was the singer’s first official design collaboration with the brand since he was named a global ambassador in 2023.

Beyond appearing as the face of the campaign, Jungkook was reportedly involved in the creative development of the collection. Inspired by his interest in motorcycles and biker culture, the capsule featured a range of men’s and women’s apparel alongside underwear pieces.

The collection combined Calvin Klein’s signature aesthetic with elements linked to the star’s personal style. Featured items included ’90s trucker jackets, racer jackets, straight-fit denim, low-rise baggy jeans, graphic T-shirts, sweatshirts, and underwear. Several products also incorporated custom details such as distressed denim treatments, racing stripe accents, exclusive washes, hidden embroidery, interior woven labels, and CKJK branding.

The release generated significant demand worldwide. According to reports, all 36 items from the collection sold out on Calvin Klein’s U.S. website within approximately 30 minutes of launch. Fans also reported heavy website traffic and technical issues shortly after the collection became available online.

Meanwhile, alongside his activities with partnered brands, Jungkook remains busy with BTS’s ongoing ARIRANG World Tour. The group is set to return to the stage next week with back-to-back performances at Busan Asiad Main Stadium on June 12 and 13.
