UFC icon Matt Brown recently shared his thoughts on Mike Perry accepting a fight against Dillon Danis next instead of Darren Till.
Perry is set to go up against Danis in an MMA fight in the main event of Duel Arena 1 this weekend in Orlando, Florida. Perry is a UFC veteran who’s earned his flowers in the BKFC as a bare-knuckle boxer over the past few years. Meanwhile, Danis rose to notoriety as Conor McGregor’s former grappling coach and is widely known for his outspoken online persona.
After Perry’s win over Nate Diaz in their mixed martial arts fight at MVP MMA 01 in May, he was strongly linked to a BKFC showdown against fellow UFC veteran Till. Unsurprisingly, Perry’s decision to fight Danis next caused some controversy in the combat sports world.
In an episode of The Fighter vs. The Writer podcast, Brown backed Perry’s decision to fight Danis next and said:

“I think fighting a Dillon Danis, he’s just capitalizing on his name. I’m sure he’s getting paid a great amount for it… Dillon Danis isn’t really that hard of a fight for him outside of Dillon may catch him in a submission. That’s really the risk you’re running into with Dillon Danis. Other than that, I think he probably blasts Dillon Danis’ f*cking head off.”
He added:
“I think he’s going to get a bag. He’s going to make some money and I’m sure we’ll see him back in BKFC. He’s going to come back… I actually get the play here. He’s a little late to the party because enough people have already beat up on Dillon Danis in the last few years. Nobody’s going out expecting Dillon Danis to be a world beater.”

Matt Brown predicts Mike Perry vs. Dillon Danis MMA showdown
In the same episode, Matt Brown shared his prediction for the Mike Perry vs. Dillon Danis showdown.
While the UFC veteran backed Perry to beat Danis, he admitted that the former Bellator welterweight could dominate the BKFC superstar on the ground. He said:
“Unfortunately, it’s Mike Perry. He’s a tough, tough motherf****r with big power, hard to take down, hard to hold down. If he’s able to go take him down, put him into a submission, I think it’s a great look for Dillon Danis.”
He added:
“I’m not going to pick Dillon Danis to win. I can tell you that much. But again, guys can be dangerous, it’s MMA, anything can happen. It’s crazy. I’ll certainly be picking Mike Perry to win this fight and bring some eyeballs. It is kind of an interesting fight.” [H/t: MMA Fighting]
