Huge match announced for WWE SmackDown

WWE announced a major match ahead of tonight’s episode of SmackDown. This week’s edition of the blue brand will air live from the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island.

The promotion made a big announcement ahead of tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown. Women’s Tag Team Champions Paige and Brie Bella will be in action tonight in a non-title match. The duo will be squaring off against Fatal Influence’s Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid. You can check out the announcement in the post below.

Paige made her surprise return at WrestleMania 42 to team up with Brie Bella. Nikki Bella was supposed to compete in the Women’s Tag Team Championship match at The Show of Shows in April, but had to drop out due to a severe ankle injury.

The Anti-Diva served as her replacement and captured the Women’s Tag Team Championships alongside Brie Bella. Nikki Bella still has not been able to return to the ring because of the injury. The veteran spent a few years in All Elite Wrestling before exiting the promotion in 2025.

WWE Superstar Paige recently shared why she decided to leave All Elite Wrestling in 2025.

In an interview with Chris Van Vliet on the INSIGHT podcast, the Women’s Tag Team Champion stated that she felt like there was not much else for her to do in AEW. She noted that AEW had big stars in its women’s division, and it was time for her to move on.

“It got to a point, I loved my time there, I really did, but there was nothing really much for me to do. When I was there, all I wanted to do was help elevate the division. So I’m like, ‘I’ll eat a pin here and there, I’ll do it, whatever someone needs.’ I don’t think there was much room for me there. You have big stars there, and I just decided that this is probably the perfect time for me to take a step back,” she said.

Only time will tell how long the 33-year-old and Brie Bella can hang onto the Women’s Tag Team Championships moving forward on WWE television.
