GTA Online The Kortz Center Heist preload is available now on select platforms ahead of the official launch, and the download size is notably smaller than what players have come to expect from recent GTA Online updates. If getting into the new content as quickly as possible on launch day is the priority, downloading now is the move.
Here is everything you need to know about the preload, download size, and when the GTA Online The Kortz Center Heist update goes live.
GTA Online The Kortz Center Heist download size by platform
The update is one of the smallest GTA Online drops in recent years. To put it in context, Money Fronts came in at 3GB, Agents of Sabotage was 6GB, and Bottom Dollar Bounties landed at 5.6GB on PS5. The Kortz Center Heist is well below the download size of all of those:
- PS5: 1.9 GB
- Xbox Series X|S: 5.11 GB
The gap between the two console versions is notable, and the overall size being this lean could suggest a more contained content offering compared to previous updates. Whether that reflects the scope of the GTA Online Kortz Center Heist itself will become clearer once the update is live.
How to preload the GTA Online Kortz Center Heist update
Preloading is currently available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Here is how to get it started:
- Head to the updates section on the console.
- The GTA Online The Kortz Center Heist update will appear and display as a pre-download.
- Download it and continue playing GTA V or GTA Online as normal while it installs.
The preload does not unlock any content early. It simply means the update is already installed and ready to go the moment the content goes live on July 14, 2026 saving the wait time on launch day.
PC players cannot preload ahead of the release. The update will be available across Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Rockstar Games Launcher starting at 10:00 AM BST on July 14, 2026.
What does GTA Online The Kortz Center Heist actually involve

To host the heist, you must own a Mansion and purchase the new Art Studio upgrade, which is the required entry point for initiating the job. The heist itself can be tackled solo or with a crew of up to three additional players.
Rockstar’s own description of the choice is worth noting:
“Approach solo, or with a crew of up to three other players — having extra hands may help you escape with more.”
Once the job is done, you can choose to either fence the stolen art for GTA$ or display it privately at your Vinewood Mansion, which adds a cosmetic layer to the outcome that goes beyond just the payout.
