The Midas Moon is a special Weather that has a small chance to occur only at nighttime. Being exclusive to the night, the odds of seeing any of the three Moon-themed Weather types are quite low as is. The Midas Moon happens to be the most common of the night-exclusive Weather types, the others being Blood Moon and Rainbow Moon.
Once it occurs, it remains active for two minutes, during which it applies three main effects for all players on the server. For its first effect, the Midas Moon causes Gold seeds to appear on the map for players to purchase. These seeds mature into plants that naturally produce Gold-mutated Crops, making them significantly more valuable than their regular counterparts.
For its second effect, the Midas Moon transforms one randomly-chosen player into Midas, enabling them to automatically apply the Gold Mutation to the next Crop they steal. This effect only remains active for the first Crop they successfully steal, making it important for them to pick their target carefully.
Lastly, the Weather randomly applies the Gold Mutation to the Crops on the server, boosting the sale values of the affected ones by 10x. This is largely unpredictable and there is always a chance of it not impacting your farm at all. Even so, it’s worth waiting for the Midas Moon to occur for a chance to benefit from all three of the aforementioned effects.
