EVgo and GM have opened a new flagship DC fast-charging station near Detroit with 12 high-power stalls, CCS and NACS connectors, and pull-through charging for EVs towing trailers.

The station is at the Meijer grocery store in Warren, Michigan, directly across from GM’s Global Technical Center. Its 350-kW chargers can deliver a full charge in as little as 15 minutes, according to EVgo, although actual charging speed depends on the vehicle, battery condition, temperature, and starting state of charge.

An overhead canopy covers the chargers, and the pull-through layout means drivers towing a trailer don’t have to unhitch before plugging in. That’s still an uncommon feature at public fast-charging stations, and a genuinely useful one.

The Warren opening brings EVgo’s US-wide flagship rollout to more than 40 operating stalls. EVgo expects to have more than 100 flagship stalls online by the end of 2026, with sites planned in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, and Texas.

EVgo’s flagship charging stations average up to 20 stalls and are located near shopping, dining, grocery stores, and other amenities. Along with faster chargers and larger stall counts, the sites feature better lighting and layouts designed to make charging easier.

“The EV-driver customer experience is paramount as American consumers choose whether to drive electric. Through our collaboration with GM, we are meeting EV drivers where they are and seamlessly integrating infrastructure options into drivers’ lives,” said EVgo president Dennis Kish.

EVgo and GM first announced the flagship program in 2024, with plans for 400 fast-charging stalls in major US metro areas. Those chargers are part of a broader buildout: EVgo says it has installed nearly 2,400 stalls across 32 states with GM’s support.

Separately, EVgo, GM, and Pilot Company recently passed 1,300 fast-charging stalls at 300 Pilot and Flying J locations across 40 states.

The new Warren site arrives as Michigan’s EV population grows. EVgo, citing Experian vehicle-registration data, says the number of EVs operating in the state increased sixfold between 2021 and 2025.
