    Duty relief may be extended for petrochemical inputs for pharma

    Hyderabad: The government is considering extending customs duty exemptions on certain petrochemical inputs used by the pharmaceutical industry beyond the June 2026 deadline due to concerns that the protracted West Asia war will increase manufacturing costs.Ravi Teja, deputy director at the Department of Commerce, told reporters in Hyderabad on Tuesday that a review is underway for a possible extension, but did not reveal the new date under consideration.
