    Concerts of pro-Assad singers cancelled after protests in Syria

    The concerts of several musicians accused of supporting former Syrian president Bashar al-Assad have been cancelled this summer in towns across Syria. People in the city of Homs tore down posters announcing performances by singers Mohamad Iskandar and Hossam Jneed, denouncing their previous links with the regime. One of the artists publicly apologised.
