Brock Lesnar told a major WWE name that he loves him. WWE fans are used to seeing The Beast wreak havoc and leave carnage behind him whenever he shows up in the ring.
But everyone got to see a different side of him at WrestleMania 42. He squared off against Oba Femi at the Show of Shows but was beaten in less than five minutes. After the match ended, Lesnar took off his gloves and boots, signaling the end of his career.
Thanks for the submission!
He was visibly emotional as he soaked in the adulation of the live audience and then shared an embrace with his longtime manager Paul Heyman. The two shared some words as Brock Lesnar then walked off.
During an appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Heyman revealed what his advocate told him during the long embrace in the middle of the ring. He said they thanked each other and said they loved each other as well.
“I thanked him for everything. He thanked me for everything. I told him that I love him. He told me that he loves me. Then I asked him if he finds it funny that the two of us are standing in the middle of the ring, in the middle of the stadium, in the middle of WrestleMania, being broadcast all over ESPN, telling each other that we love each other,” he said.
Paul Heyman said when he told him that it was a surreal feeling, Brock Lesnar replied in a manner that only he could in that moment.
“I said, ‘This is kind of a surreal moment.’ He goes, ‘F*ck them! Don’t worry about that, this is just for us.’ Okay, my beast. Happy to happen, happy to participate in the moment. It was just a very personal moment that we were not hesitant to share with the rest of the world. It was a very emotional moment,” he added.
While the moment was significant, there was more to come from The Conqueror after his return.
Brock Lesnar made a quick return to WWE
At WrestleMania 42, it appeared that Brock Lesnar was done with his in-ring career. For days, there was no update on what his future might hold.
But then less than a month later, he made a shocking return to RAW and attacked Oba Femi with devastating F-5s. This led to a rematch between the two at Clash in Italy, where The Beast Incarnate overcame The Ruler.
Since then, Oba has made it clear that he is not done with Brock Lesnar, teasing another match between the two down the line.
