One of the most unique skills in Path of Exile has always been Raise Spectre. Unlike skills that allows you to summon zombies and skeletons, Raise Spectres allows you to summon permanent allies that can either increase your damage output or grant you powerful buffs. While it can be tempting to equip a pure Damage Spectre, a single Utility Spectre can completely change how your build performs in Path of Exile.
Despite various balance changes, here are the best Spectres you can use in Path of Exile 3.29.
Path of Exile: 10 best Spectres to use
The most common type of Spectres are the pure Damage Spectres, used by the majority of minion-based Necromancer builds, while non-minion builds can benefit from the use of one or more Support/Utility Spectres, allowing you to buff yourself and debuff enemies. Here are some of the best Spectres you can use in the game:

1) Perfect Forest Tiger
This Spectre is perfect for almost any build in Path of Exile by combining two of the best offensive buffs:
- Haste
- Frenzy Charge generation
While using this Spectre, you have a low chance (5%) to gain a Frenzy Charge which increases both of your attack and movement speed. Casting Haste directly increases your movement and attack speed which allows you to deal more damage and avoid incoming attacks more easily. Additionally, you also get a 5% increased attack damage per 450 Evasion Rating.
2) Perfect Spirit of Fortune
If you are running a lightning-based build, then the Perfect Spirit of Fortune Spectre is the best choice for you.
While using the Perfect Spirit of Fortune all of your Lightning Damage is Lucky, meaning your lightning skills and attacks deal bonus damage. Additionally, here are the abilities of the Spirit of Fortune:
- Casts Shock Nova
- Casts Spark
- Casts Lightning Warp
- Casts Wrath
Casting Wrath further increases both the damage of your melee and ranged attacks.
Overall, this should be one of the first Spectres you get if you are playing a Lightning-based build in Path of Exile.
3) Perfect Guardian Turtle
The Perfect Guardian Turtle is best used by defensive/tanky builds while bossing in Path of Exile. The sole purpose of this Spectre is to keep your character alive by granting you:
- Determination Aura
- 5% Physical Damage Reduction
- Damage immunity for 2 seconds (from the Rongokurai’s Boon exclusive skill)
Gaining the Determination Aura from the Perfect Guardian Turtle grants both direct and multiplicative armor rating to you and your allies in a specific radius. This means you will need to stay near the Guardian Turtle to benefit from the buffs.

4) Perfect Forest Warrior
If you want to clear maps more effeciently, using the Perfect Forest Warrior will grant you the abilities to do so perfectly. It is one of the best utility/support Spectres that grants you:
- Permanent Onslaught (to you and your allies)
- Culling Strike
While you have Onslaught (non-stackable buff), you will have 20% increased attack, cast, and movement speed. Additionally, you will also be able to execute enemies with 10% or lower maximum life. This dramatically increases clear speed, making it perfect for mapping.
5) Carnage Chieftain
Carnage Chieftain remains the best spectre choice for the early game due to its ability to grant Frenzy Charges to you and your allies. The Frenzy Charges grants you increased attack, cast, and movement speed, which are all extremely valuable in the early game.
6) Perfect Warlord
While it is not the most impressive Spectre in Path of Exile, it is a decent addition to any tanky build in the game. The Perfect Warlord Spectre is based around player survivability by granting you:
- Vitality Aura
- Endurance Charges (to you and your allies)
While you have the Vitality Aura, you and your allies will have life regeneration in a specific radius. Additionally, each Endurance Charge will grant you an additional physical and elemental damage reduction.
7) Host Chieftain
The Host Chieftain is best used as a backup Spectre, since it doesn’t grant you flat damage output, it always falls behind after the early-game phase of the game. The Host Chieftain grants you 50% increased critical strike chance per Power Charge you have.
While this makes it a decent choice of Spectre in the early-game, its overall damage potential depends on your critical strike damage which is fairly low in the early stages of the game.
8) Perfect Hulking Miscreation
The Perfect Hulking Miscreation is a pure minion-based Spectre. While it doesn’t grant you any direct buffs, it summons constructs and grants them 100% increased damage and 30% increased attack and cast speed.
Additionally, pairing this Spectre with a tanky build will increase the overall damage by 8% per 450 armor you have.
