Starmer carries on regardless as G7 leaders ponder question of leaving gift | John Crace
Shortly before he arrived in Évian at the beginning of the week, Emmanuel Macron set up a new WhatsApp group for world leaders. Keir Starmer wasn’t included. Call it the G6, if you like. The idea was to have a safe space to discuss how best to deal with the UK prime minister. Should they confront head-on that this was going to be his last G7? That next year’s outing would be an athleisure occasion with Andy Burnham (T-shirts just a tad on the small size)? Should they club together to buy him a leaving present? A French World Cup…

Playing against us”, “Best Ferran Torres impression
Fans on social media have turned on Ismaila Sarr after Senegal suffered a painful 3-1 defeat against France in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group I opener. The Crystal Palace winger had a day to forget at MetLife Stadium, with his glaring miss in the first half the defining image of Senegal’s wasteful attacking display. Sadio Mane found Sarr inside the box deep into first-half stoppage time, but the winger blasted over with the goal at his mercy. The 28-year-old spent 75 minutes on the pitch and failed to register a single shot on target. Thanks for the submission! He…
a storm just took out your power, now what?
There’s no shortage of advice on how to size a home solar and battery system, but most of it assumes a suburban home with city services and outages measured in hours, not days. Rural homes play by different rules, especially during summer storms. When heavy winds take down power lines and your utility prioritizes restoring urban neighborhoods first, having a home battery isn’t about convenience — it’s about damage control. Power outages caused by severe wind storms can often last for days, not just hours – and summer heat just compounds your troubles, making it harder to keep food and medicine safe…

At the time, Xreal and Google were coy about the processor upgrades to the long-awaited spectacles. Turns out, it was the Reality Elite.Spec-wise, the new chip focuses on across-the-board performance upgrades. The GPU gets a…
Mobileye has pitched itself as an autonomous vehicle technology supplier. Now it wants the operator label, too. The Intel subsidiary and publicly traded company said Tuesday it plans to launch a robotaxi service in a U.S. city in 2027, marking an expansion beyond its supplier strategy. Mobileye didn’t name the U.S. city. However, the Israeli-based company said it will have an initial fleet of 100 autonomous vehicles, which will be phased in throughout 2027. If successful, Mobileye said it plans to scale to about 17,000 robotaxis over the following five years. “The robotaxi revolution has only just begun, and its…
Public-private projects key to expand access to Kidney care: NephroPlus
Mumbai: NephroPlus, India’s largest dialysis services provider, is developing a technology and data science-driven chronic kidney disease (CKD) prevention platform even as it ramps up its dialysis clinics in India and in global markets.”We would go upstream to look at the prevention side and slow the progression from CKD stage 1 to stage 5,” group CEO Rohit Singh told ET in an exclusive interview. “The idea is to have a mass scale screening aggregated at some place; then we use data to categorise the people and predict and give them a medical management plan which can be supervised by a…
