Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday dismissed reports that it had sold part of its gold reserves to shield the country’s foreign exchange holdings from volatility arising out of the conflict in West Asia, asserting that its physical gold stock remains unchanged.In a clarification issued by RBI, the central bank said reports in certain sections of the media suggesting a sale of gold were “not correct”. NEW DELHI: Petroleum minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Wednesday said flex-fuel vehicles offer India a practical way to reduce crude oil imports. He said if even 1% of annual petrol vehicle sales shift to the technology, it would generate demand for four crore litres of ethanol and save Rs 195 crore in foreign exchange each year.
