The 7 biggest storylines from Summer Game Fest 2026
Both Sony and Microsoft used their showcases as a way to confirm they’re refocusing on tried-and-true strategies like exclusive games and single-player blockbusters. Meanwhile, every publisher in existence seemed to be avoiding going up against Grand Theft Auto VI on the release calendar, and there were some very welcome game announcements, particularly if you’re a fan of Final Fantasy or Persona. If you couldn’t keep up with everything live, here are the most important storylines to catch up on.After an ill-fated — and very expensive — foray into live-service games, it appears that Sony’s gaming division has a renewed focus on…
Notion restores access to Anthropic after service disruption
Notion’s integration with Anthropic apparently had a hiccup this weekend. Early Sunday morning, the company posted, “Anthropic’s Opus 4.7 and 4.8 models are experiencing degraded performance, which is causing a higher rate of failures for users selecting these models in Notion AI.” As a result, Notion said it was disabling use of “all Anthropic models” in its automated productivity tool. Twelve hours later, Notion’s head of product Max Schoening wrote that he was “astonished” at “the amount of people RT-ing this because they want a story around model quality to be the reason.” (According to the public stats on X,…

The Guardian view on the French presidential election campaign: only the far right will profit from division | Editorial
Less than a year before the most important French presidential election in the history of the Fifth Republic, the phoney war is almost over. On 7 July, a court will decide whether to uphold Marine Le Pen’s appeal against a fraud conviction and a five-year ban from public office. Should she lose, her party’s 30‑year‑old president, Jordan Bardella, will be confirmed as Rassemblement National’s candidate and the frontrunner in the race.Voters will need to wait considerably longer, however, for clarity over who will oppose the far right. Jean-Luc Mélenchon, the veteran leader of the radical-left party La France Insoumise (LFI), has already announced…

Max Verstappen was spotted boarding his yacht shortly after his first-lap DNF at the Monaco Grand Prix. The Dutchman quickly completed all of his media duties before heading onto his boat and back home ahead of everyone else on Sunday. Verstappen’s Monaco GP ended 78 laps earlier than he would have liked on Sunday, as his engine lost power at the race start. Starting in P2, the 4x world champion bogged down and had dropped to 22nd and last by the second corner. He then limped back into the pit lane to retire the car due to an engine issue.…
