Tottenham Hotspur are considering launching a move to sign Chelsea defender Malo Gusto, according to journalist Simon Phillips. Spurs were previously linked with an interest in Chelsea duo Nicolas Jackson and Pedro Neto, but have yet to make a formal transfer approach.

After narrowly avoiding relegation from the Premier League last season, Tottenham are in the process of a rebuild. Roberto De Zerbi has remained ambitious in the transfer market and has added some interesting names to his squad this summer.

Marcos Senesi and Jean Paul van Hecke have been added to strengthen the defence, where Cristian Romero is heading for the exit door. Andy Robertson is another addition to the Spurs’ backline.

Spurs have added two Premier League-proven stars in midfield as well with the arrivals of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes for a combined fee of up to £185 million including add-ons. Their total spent stands at £237 million and De Zerbi has already confirmed fans can expect another arrival.

Since it has been widely reported that Tottenham want to add to their attack after the departure of Randal Kolo Muani, the interest in Gusto comes as a bit of a surprise. The French full-back has been linked with Manchester City this summer, and could fall down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge after the arrival of Marco Palestra and Pep Chavarria.

Interest from Spurs is believed to be nascent, with the club not yet decided on launching a concrete move to snatch Gusto from their rivals. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea open the door to a potential sale. The Blues are expected to demand at least £75 million for the full-back.

Chelsea set transfer deadline for Manchester City to sign Enzo Fernandez

The Enzo Fernandez transfer saga could come to an end this weekend. This has been a big headline over the last few months and the west London club has made a big decision.

As per The Athletic, Chelsea have set Friday as the deadline for Manchester City to make an official approach for Fernandez. The Blues want £120 million to sanction the sale of the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner.

Fernandez is believed to be keen on a move to Manchester City, where former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca wants him. City are currently working on a deal to sell Tijjani Reijnders to Al-Qadsiah. They are also in negotiations with Barcelona over the transfer of Rodri. Should they reach an agreement on both deals, it should give them the funds required to launch the move for Fernandez.
