Adam Copeland and Christian Cage have just been called out by the son of a WWE legend for a title match. This match may happen imminently and may be confirmed as soon as next week.
Cope & Christian have captured championship gold for the first time in more than a decade after dethroning FTR at Double or Nothing. But the celebrations did not last long as they were attacked by David Finlay and Clark Connors a few days later. The legendary duo has not been spotted since then, but they may have found their first challengers.
However, the Dogs are not the only ones interested in the titles, as the Young Bucks have put their names in the hat and have already confronted Finlay and Connors about this.
Earlier tonight on Collision, the former NJPW stars responded and challenged the Bucks to a match next week at Summer Blockbuster to decide who becomes the number one contender to the AEW World Tag Team Champions. But the Dogs are confident they’ll come out on top, as they have already called out Adam Copeland and Christian Cage and claimed that they’ll be the ones to take them down.
Both Adam Copeland and Christian Cage have not been seen for a few weeks, so there has not been an official response from their end. But once their challengers are decided, the veterans could finally make an appearance. Either way, they have a formidable competitor lined up for them.
Tony Khan has yet to make any of this official, but since a challenge was dropped and the Young Bucks have been open to facing them for some time now, this is more or less bound to happen. This will be only one of the blockbuster matches set for next week’s set of shows, with many of these having implications for Forbidden Door at the end of the month.
