Fan-favorite star set to receive huge push in AEW

Following their recent performances, it has been reported that a popular AEW star may find himself receiving a major push from the company. All this is happening despite his loss in his most recent match.

Ace Austin is known for his 6-year stint in TNA before signing with All Elite Wrestling last year. Following Jay White‘s absence and his connection to Bullet Club, he aligned himself with the Bang Bang Gang and has put on strong performances in the ring. With the Switchblade’s return, he has not lost his spot; rather, the group has looked to be at its best since its inception.

Last night on AEW Collision, Ace took on Claudio Castagnoli as part of the Continental Cup. Unfortunately, he lost and is now eliminated from the tournament. But on the recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported how his performance in the match has impressed many within the company. He claimed that this may eventually lead to him having more television time.

“As far as Ace Austin’s standing, I think he did himself a world of favours with this performance because people are talking about him, including in the company. Being very impressed by him. I don’t know that it’s going to get him a bunch of wins, but I do think it will get him some television time,” said Meltzer. [H/T @TheDrainmaker on X]

Ace Austin posted a message after his loss on AEW Collision

With his loss in the Continental Cup, it is back to the drawing board for Ace Austin. But it doesn’t look like he’s bogged down with the loss.

He took to X/Twitter and expressed how he loved his job and was ecstatic to come in every week for this. He looked at his setbacks as lessons, and claimed that eventually he’d get his moment.

“I love Pro Wrestling with all my heart & soul. I am ecstatic to come to work & do my job every week @AEW The rest is small potato stuff. Every loss is a valuable lesson & every win is a precious moment. But the work never stops; My time in the sun will come. It is #INEVITABLE,” he said.

The Bang Bang Gang is currently feuding with both The Dogs and the Death Riders. Ace Austin may have his hands full for the coming weeks, and may have involvement at AEW All In.
