A former WWE champion got emotional while remembering his late mother. The star went through a heartbreaking tragedy a few months ago.

On April 18, former WWE star Ryback announced the passing of his mother, Janeen Reeves, on social media. He noted that she passed away after a battle with bile duct and liver cancer at the age of 67.

He said that seeing his mother go from a lively person to someone who didn’t have the strength to do what she loved was a hard time for him. Ryback described his mother as caring, strong, and proud, and said her presence was everywhere in his house. The former Intercontinental champion called her passing the hardest loss of his life.

Now, nearly three months after her passing, Ryback took to X to post an emotional message on what would’ve been his mother’s 68th birthday. He mentioned that he missed her every single day and said that he loves her forever.

“Today would have been my mom’s 68th birthday. ❤️ I love and miss you every single day, Mom, and I know you’re watching over us. Thank you for being such a great mom, from the beginning of my life until the end of yours. I’ll love you forever. The dogs miss you very much too. ❤️ Happy 68th Birthday, Mom. I love you always. 🕊️❤️

Ryback defended WWE Superstar Roman Reigns

For years, Ryback remained at odds with WWE following his exit from the company in 2016. He often criticized the promotion and was vocal against some particular names.

However, he came to the defense of Roman Reigns after a controversy. The OTC1 made an appearance at the UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House. This divided wrestling fans, who believed Reigns should not have been in attendance.

However, Ryback defended the World Heavyweight Champion, saying he is one of the biggest stars of WWE and him attending the event shouldn’t be a surprise.

He also said that just because somebody goes to an event, it should not define their character. Ryback said the bigger issue is how quickly people judge and tear each other down.
