Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has responded to Team India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant’s plea to help him with the process of acquiring land in his native state.

Pant, who is currently in Sri Lanka for the two-match Test series, tagged Dhami on X, saying that he had spent the past three years trying to find suitable land in Uttarakhand. The 28-year-old said he wishes to relocate his base from Delhi to Uttarakhand and build his first home there.

“@pushkardhami hello sir how’re (sic) you???” Pant wrote. “It’s a long time for me especially being local from Uttarakhand. I have been trying to buy land to shift my base from Delhi to Uttarakhand and I couldn’t find anything facilitating and big to live here. I love my Uttarakhand.”

“My humble request to you is please help me in land acquisition cause nowadays it had become a nightmare with clarity and even other land is due which I was supposed to get when I was promoting the state before keeping everything in side I wanna move back to my native place to help and build around Uttarakhand and I want to shift back to my Pahadi people please look into this matter it’s been 3 years didn’t get any land awaiting your answer @pushkardhami sir,” he added (sic).

Pant then sought direct help from the Chief Minister with the process of acquiring land in Uttarakhand and at their rates.

Dhami responded to Pant’s post by welcoming his desire to return to Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister stated that he has instructed the concerned department to contact Pant and expedite the process.

“Dear Rishabh, you are the pride of Uttarakhand. With your splendid performance and achievements, you have illuminated the name of Devbhoomi in the country and the world,” Dhami wrote.

“Your love for your motherland and your sentiment of returning here to contribute are highly commendable. Regarding the matter you have raised, instructions are being issued to the concerned officials. They will soon contact you and ensure all possible cooperation in accordance with the rules,” he added.

Rishabh Pant’s record against Sri Lanka in Tests

Pant boasts a stellar Test record against Sri Lanka. Across two Tests and three innings during the 2022 home series, the dynamic wicketkeeper-batter accumulated 185 runs at an average of 61.66 and an excellent strike rate of 120.12.

Pant registered two half-centuries, headlined by a blistering 96 off 97 balls in Mohali and a record-breaking 50 off 31 balls in Bengaluru. In that Bengaluru Test, he shattered Kapil Dev’s 40-year-old national record by hitting the fastest Test fifty by an Indian batter in just 28 deliveries.

Complementing his batting heroics with eight dismissals behind the stumps, Pant earned his maiden Test Player of the Series award.
