Hyundai shut down rumors that the IONIQ 6 N has been canceled for the US. The IONIQ 6 N is still on track to launch by the end of 2026.

Hyundai IONIQ 6 N will launch in the US in 2026

After Hyundai discontinued the standard IONIQ 6 after the 2025 model year, many were worried the performance “N” model would be canceled.

While Hyundai has repeatedly said that only the standard model was being discontinued, that hasn’t stopped social media rumors claiming otherwise.

Last month, a user on Reddit posted that “the IONIQ 6 N has been canceled,” claiming they worked at a US dealership and “got word from HMA” about the announcement.

According to Derek Joyce, manager of Hyundai Motor America’s premium model lines, the IONIQ 6 N is still on track and will go on sale by the end of 2026. Joyce told TheKoreanCarBlog that “there has been no change in Hyundai’s plans for the IONIQ 6 N in the US in 2026.”

After the IONIQ 6 N made its North American debut at the LA Auto Show last year, Hyundai said it would be sold in limited batches.

The IONIQ 6 N is Hyundai’s second performance EV, following the IONIQ 5 N. It’s based on the same E-GMP platform and features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) powertrain, delivering a combined 641 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque (when Boost Mode is engaged), enabling it to hit 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds.

Like the IONIQ 5 N, it also features Hyundai’s N e-Shift and N Active Sound+ systems that simulate the sounds and feel of a traditional gas-powered car with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.

While the IONIQ 6 N is still on track to launch later this year, Hyundai reduced the price of the 2026 IONIQ 5 N by $6,300 last month.
