In the recent episode of WWE SmackDown, Gunther crossed all the lines and destroyed Nick Aldis. After the National Treasure announced Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk for SummerSlam 2026, the Ring General got furious and warned Aldis.

As the SmackDown GM failed to give Gunther the resolution he wanted, the former Imperium leader attacked Nick in the main event. Attacking an authority figure will attract major consequences for Gunther.

In this article, we will discuss four consequences the Ring General could face for attacking SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis.

    #4. A hefty fine

One of the possible consequences Gunther could face for attacking the General Manager could be a hefty fine. This isn’t the first time that the Ring General and the National Treasure have been involved in a heated altercation.

A fine might be imposed on Gunther for his actions. A monetary loss could be a fitting consequence for the 38-year-old star’s actions.

#3. Kick him out from SmackDown

Gunther asked Nick Aldis to re-consider Punk vs. Rhodes at SummerSlam, and Aldis instead made Gunther & Sami Zayn vs. Punk & Rhodes official for #SNME… Gunther then snaps on Aldis, locking in a chokehold. Gunther vs. Aldis at SummerSlam 🔥 #SmackDown

During WWE SmackDown, Nick Aldis asserted that bringing the Ring General to the blue brand appears to be a big mistake committed by him. After the former Imperium Leader attacked the National Treasure on the blue brand, Nick might kick him out.

Aldis has already confirmed that he has been reinstated as SmackDown General Manager. This means that he has every right to take action against the former World Heavyweight Champion.

So, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Nick kicked him out of SmackDown as a consequence of attacking him.

#2. Challenge him for a match at WWE SummerSlam

Over the past few weeks, there have been rumors about Gunther and Nick Aldis potentially locking horns in a singles match at WWE SummerSlam 2026. This year, the Biggest Party of the Summer will be a two-night Premium Live Event, and the company has already announced massive matches for the card.

It’s crucial to note that Nick is yet to make his in-ring WWE debut. However, after Gunther destroyed him on SmackDown, the GM might issue a challenge to him for a match at SummerSlam this year. This could be one of the major aftermaths Gunther could face for attacking the National Treasure.

If this happens, then it will be the first time that Aldis will step into the ring as a wrestler after a long time.

    #1. A suspension

Gunther might face suspension as a probable consequence for attacking Nick Aldis. Before this, the Ring General was once sent home after what happened at Night of Champions 2026.

Attacking an authority figure could lead to Gunther’s suspension from the company. This could also lead to him missing the upcoming Madison Square Garden WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

A suspension could be a perfect way to generate more heat between Gunther and Nick Aldis ahead of SummerSlam 2026.
