Norway striker Erling Haaland posted a Beatles-themed picture on social media ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-final with England in Miami on Saturday (July 11).
The Vikings are into the last-eight of a World Cup for the very first time, beating five-time champions Brazil 2-1 in the Round of 16, thanks to a Haaland brace in the final 10 minutes, rendering Neymar Junior’s stoppage time penalty academic.
Thanks for the submission!
With seven goals in four games, the 25-year-old joined France’s Kylian Mbappe and Argentina’s Lionel Messi atop the Golden Boot leaderboard. The duo have since moved one strike ahead of Haaland.
Ahead of the clash with Thomas Tuchel’s side, Haaland posted a picture of himself and a few of his teammates walking like the Beatles and captioned it:
“Here come the … VIKINGS.”
The viral tweet has been viewed 1.3 million times at the time of writing, attracting 2.7K comments, 10K retweets and 138K likes.
Haaland and Co. have won two of their last three competitive meetings with the Three Lions as they seek a place in the last-four against holders Argentina or Switzerland next week.
“It’s been impressive” – Norway’s Erling Haaland praises 2026 FIFA World Cup in USA ahead of England clash

Norway marksman Erling Haaland has waxed lyrical of the organisation of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, especially in the United States, ahead of the last-eight clash with England on Saturday.
Haaland is having a dream debut World Cup campaign, scoring in all four games he has played, with his latest outing seeing Brazil suffer their earliest World Cup elimination in 36 years.
“I think it’s a good thing because I like the Americans,” Haaland said on Instagram (via Indian Express).
“I think they are kind of hilarious as well. They are funny. So I like the way they are. It’s been, honestly, on every single thing with the World Cup here so far has been amazing. From the games, to the stadiums, to the training grounds to everything has been amazing. It’s been impressive.”
England are looking to reach the FIFA World Cup semi-finals for the second time in eight years, having lost 2-1 to eventual finalists France at the Qatar edition four years ago.
