One of AEW’s “founding fathers” has issued an important challenge to WWE superstar Candice LeRae, albeit one that does not pertain to the squared circle. The star in question, Matt Jackson, nominated The Poison Pixie to take part in a popular internet trend to support Rebel, an All Elite Wrestling star who was recently diagnosed with a terminal illness.
In a gut-wrenching social media post this past May, Rebel had announced that she had been diagnosed with terminal ALS, a severe neurodegenerative disorder which seemingly explained a number of health issues she had been struggling with for some time. Amidst a steady and strong outpouring of support in response to her heartbreaking update, the Oklahoma-born AEW star revealed last month that she had joined I AM ALS, a community-led organization dedicated to raising awareness and expanding resources for individuals combating the illness.
Over this past week, a number of prominent AEW names have been participating in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in support of Rebel. On a recent edition of their YouTube show Being The Elite, Matt Jackson of The Young Bucks took part in the challenge, in turn nominating actor Ken Jeong, his long-time friend and former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens, his former Bullet Club stable-mates The Good Brothers, and finally Candice LeRae, one of his “favorite female wrestlers of all time.”

The Bucks were nominated for the Ice Bucket Challenge by Britt Baker, who participated in the trend earlier this month alongside Rebel herself.
AEW champion Jon Moxley also took part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
In her Ice Bucket Challenge video referenced above, Britt Baker had also nominated Renee Paquette and her husband, Death Riders leader Jon Moxley. The reigning AEW Continental Champion snuck up behind his spouse and dumped a crate of ice water on her in a hilarious video Renee shared on her Instagram profile the following day.

The One True King is set to go to war with The Young Bucks once again at Redemption 2026 later this month, where he will face Matt and Nick Jackson alongside his new tag partner Will Ospreay.
