The New York Giants fired former coach Brian Daboll in November after a 2-8 start to the 2025 season. The firing ended his three-year tenure with the franchise.

The Giants replaced Daboll by hiring former Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh in the offseason this year. According to latest reports, the Giants are set to hold 10 practices in 11 days during training camp under Harbaugh later this month.

Giants reporter Nikki Gist mocked the former Giants coach, as Daboll reportedly never held practice for more than three consecutive days.

“I remember the first Giants training camp I covered 4 years ago,” she wrote on X. “Daboll’s 1st year. I remember thinking, ‘Wtf is this? this is some camp cupcake type shit.’ Every year after I thought ‘Wtf is this? this is some camp cupcake type shit.’ There’s a new sheriff in town boys 😤”

Daboll, who finished with a 20-40-1 record in New York, reached the postseason in 2022 and was named the NFL Coach of the Year. However, it was the only winning season of his tenure as the Giants went 11-33 after the 2022 season.

Giants insider compares John Harbaugh’s intense training camp schedule

Giants insider Dan Duggan, reported the training camp schedule under new coach John Harbaugh on Tuesday. He compared Harbaugh’s intense schedule to Daboll’s.

“Giants are getting their money’s worth with the Greenbrier practice fields. They open training camp at the West Virginia resort on July 29 and have four days of practice before being off on Aug. 2.

“Then they practice for six straight days before returning to New Jersey post-practice on Aug. 8 (six is the CBA max allowance for consecutive practices). That’s 10 practices in the first 11 days of camp. Daboll never held practice more than three straight days in camp.”

Harbaugh, who spent more than a decade with the Baltimore Ravens, is known for his tough practices during training camp.
