    Please Lamine Yamal, save me

Popular streamer and YouTuber IShowSpeed has made an emotional plea to Spain sensation Lamine Yamal to stop Lionel Messi from winning another FIFA World Cup as the duo prepare to meet in the final of the tournament this weekend.

Spain and Argentina booked their places in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final after defeating France and England respectively in the semifinals. Ahead of the showpiece event coming up on Sunday July 18, IShowSpeed, who is a well-known Cristiano Ronaldo supporter, has urged Lamine Yamal to stop Messi from winning the title for the second time.

In a video posted on Instagram by sportscenter, the YouTuber was seen making an emotional plea to the 19-year-old forward, saying:

“Please Lamine, please Lamine. Save me Lamine Yamal, save me. Save me from disaster.

IshowSpeed went on to explain that another FIFA World Cup triumph for Messi would leave Ronaldo fans with little to argue in the long-running GOAT debate.

“I can’t deal with this for another year,” he continued. “Messi winning the World Cup again, I don’t know what to say as a Ronaldo fan. I can’t say anything, I can’t say nothing. So Lamine Yamal, save us Ronaldo fans,” the content creator added.

It is worth highlighting that IShowSpeed has been a notable presense at the FIFA World Cup this year. The American streamer has been spotted in stadiums watching games, including the semi-final clash between Argentina and England on Wednesday.

Unfortunately for him though, things haven’t gone his way at all. His favourite player Cristiano Ronaldo was eliminated from the tournament in the pre-quarterfinals. Since then, he’s supported France and England, both of whom are also out of the race for the title.

Lamine Yamal set for biggest test of his career as Spain take on Lionel Messi and Argentina in 2026 FIFA World Cup final

Lamine Yamal has been a standout performer for Spain at the FIFA World Cup this year. The attacker has recorded a goal to his name and picked up three Man Of The Match awards to solidify his presence. He’s also earned praises for his dazzling displays against the likes of Portugal, Belgium and France in the knockout stage.

However, in the final of the competition on July 18, the Barcelona winger will face the biggest test of his career so far. Coming up against the greatest footballer in history, who is leading an army of hungry lions on the grandest stage of the sport is no easy task.

It promises to be an epic battle between the two sides in New York. Should Lamine Yamal manage to inspire Spain to victory, he would etch his name into the history books at just 19 years old. And if he fails to do that, he still has plenty of time to continue fighting to become a world champion.
